Terms and conditions

Ordering

Orders may be placed and filled by submitting a request through the website ordering page. In doing this you are making an offer to purchase from us within our terms. We will respond with an email confirmation of your order as soon as possible, a maximum of two business days. We will include in your confirmation an invoice with payment details.  Once your payment has been received we will confirm receipt and delivery information.

Payment

Payment is to be made via bank transfer to Sustainable Resource Global Ltd, as indicated on invoices. The Amersham Wine Company is a trading name under this business (UK Company number 14138648), but also it’s own entity (UK company number 16096542).

Payment will be accepted by debit card, credit card (Visa, MasterCard), or charge card (American Express) which carry their own terms. All credit and charge card transactions are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. We may need to contact you again to verify details before we deliver, and will not be held responsible for any delay so caused.

Contract

At the point at which your payment is received by us a legally binding contract will exist between you and the Company, but we reserve the right to amend or refuse any order up to the point of dispatch, and you have cancellation rights as set out below. If we need to amend your order we will always contact you before proceeding with the sale.

In registering on the site or placing any order for alcohol you confirm that you are over 18. No contract shall exist between us and anyone under 18 who attempts to order or to take delivery of alcohol. If our drivers are in any doubt about this they are instructed not to leave the goods and the sale will be cancelled.

Availability

The Amersham Wine Company does its utmost to ensure that all wines offered on the website or in our newsletters are currently available, but all products are offered subject to changing availability.

Pricing and Discounts

Prices are given per bottle (75cl for wine, 70cl for spirits) or as otherwise listed. Our general lists display the standard bottle price followed by a discounted price for case quantities. Prices include duty and VAT.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure correct pricing, mistakes can occur. If a product is accidentally offered at an incorrect price, we reserve the right to refuse to supply at the incorrect price and will contact you to see if you wish to proceed with the sale at the correct price.

If we make a time-limited offer, any date given will be a guide only and we will not be obliged to fulfil orders up to that date. We reserve the right to change any price or offer without notice.

Delivery

Please see the delivery page for full details.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

If you have special delivery requirements e.g. by a specific date, or deliver to a neighbour if out - please add them to the delivery instructions during checkout and we will endeavour to fulfil them within reason (and our standard delivery terms.)

DELIVERY TIMES:

We cannot specify exact delivery times, but if you have a particular request or deadline to meet, do let us know by giving us a call or sending an email to hello@amershamwine.com and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

Acceptance

You will be deemed to have accepted the goods as delivered and in fulfilment of your order unless we hear from you within three days of receiving delivery, and you will not be entitled to reject them thereafter except as set out below.

Cancellation and Complaints

Orders delivered may be cancelled by you within seven days of receipt, without you giving a reason. In this case the goods (in good condition and unopened) must be returned to us or made available for collection.

If we collect a collection fee will be payable. If we are unable to accept return because the goods are not in good condition or have been opened, a re-delivery fee will also be payable.

Upon receipt and acceptance by us we will refund all payments (less any collection or delivery charges) within 30 days.

Quality Charter

The Amersham Wine Company does its utmost to make sure that wines are delivered to you in the best possible condition.

There is always an element of risk in the purchase of older fine wines as their condition is inevitably variable. The prices at which we offer these to you reflect our assessment of condition.

We undertake proper safekeeping and storage of wines in our possession and act in good faith when purchasing wine, but we will not be responsible for the state and condition of wines or whether the wine corresponds to the qualities which might be expected from its description. Wines that have been simply kept too long or mistreated will not be refunded. At our complete discretion, we will consider replacing the remainder of any other case sold which is not drinkable.

Refunds will be made to the credit card used for the original purchase after deducting 5% of the invoice total to cover our costs, including order processing and delivery.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Special Terms

We will notify you as to any special terms before you confirm any order. Placing an order following such notification will constitute acceptance of any special terms of which we have notified you.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Severance

Any of these Terms and Conditions which is or may be void or unenforceable shall to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability be deemed severable and shall not affect any other Term or Condition.
